I'm a good little helper

from Madison:

Thanks in large part to the amazing healing powers of our cuddling her, Deer is finally on the mend! It's about time, too - now these people can start paying all of their attention on us where it belongs!

Even though she's feeling all better, I thought I'd give her a helping hand today as she tidied up the house. I especially like loading the dishwasher!

Hmmm...I wonder if there are any toys or treats back here?

Poor, poor Deer

From Maddie:

Apparently, our Deer hardly ever gets even a sniffle...but that has sure changed recently! A couple of other humans that mouse at the same place she does came down with this nasty little bug that our poor, little Deer caught. At first she coughed and coughed and coughed! She coughed so much she couldn't hardly sleep, even though we thought we'd make her feel better by sleeping on her feet. Then, after a good week of that and just when she thought she was getting all better....WHAMMO! Stage 2 - a nasty sore throat - hit her hard on Friday!

Poor, little Deer...she was so sad and she kept on telling Macks how sick she was of being sick! She's was much better yesterday and even better today...thanks to Macks and us...well, mainly us, we think! It brought Deer nearly to tears on Friday night at 2:00 am when Macks - without even a moment's hesitation - found the nearest 24 hour drugstore to get her some sore throat medicine. She told us on Saturday how wonderfully thoughtful, sweet, caring, unselfish, blah blah blah he is to her. Whatever! Hey, what about us? We cuddle with you and we think that is what finally made you all better!

The powers of Feline TLC are vastly under appreciated and demand further attention by the established medical community. In the meantime, we'll do our best to keep Deer on the road to recovery by putting aside our sassiness for a few more days and being extra nice to her, too. Macks isn't the only one who can be a sweetie-pie!

Additional proof of my mastery

from Madison:

With a high temperature of a whopping 7 degrees today (brrr!!!), I thought it was a good day to show you how wonderful I am at finding the cuddliest spots!

For some reason, the People have this really cool box behind a chair in the office. Looked pretty cuddly to me, and - because I am the Cuddle Master - my instincts were correct! This spot had an unforeseen bonus, too, 'cause the radiator is right next to the box. Mmmmm...super cuddly!

I'm not quite sure what was better - the cuddle or watching Deer contort herself to try and get these photos of me. To say the least, it was a tight spot! I'm sure she thinks it was worth it, because I sure am cute, don't you think?

The Yin and Yang

We are one and in unity in pursuit of ultimate cuddliness.

If you put your mind to it

from Madison:

If you apply yourself, you can certainly make any spot a good cuddle spot. Heck, even the bathroom can do very nicely:

"Silly human, do not wake me"

Tony feels the need to monitor the escalation.

Now that the situation has been properly diffused, Tony is pleased to report that all is well and that peace has been restored. (trying very hard not to write something completely sassy re: the current administration's feeble attempts about restoring peace...it's just too easy and therefore beneath me)

After that, we decided to retire to a more usual cuddle spot. Tony still feels a bit insecure about my momentary crabbiness with the humans for waking me up from my bathroom rug repose.

Gosh darn it, don't I have the prettiest paws you ever did see?

Our new toy!

With all of the hullabaloo preparing our Christmas Concert and finding out that Washie was yet another Japanese import (Maddie is not in the least surprised...she always figured he was some sort of changling), we almost forgot to show you our Christmas present!

It's awesome...kinda like jute on the top that Macks rubs catnip in for an extra good time. It's perfect for a good scratch and even for just sittin' on!
Washie, in a catnip-induced frenzy, is working out his mixed emotions after finding out about his long-lost Japanese relations...

Are we related?

Deer has this odd fondness for this Japanese beastie called Hello Kitty...she looks like a total glamor girl, always dressing up and having her picture on everything! She must be part of the jet set or something...is she followed by the paparazzi, too? Well, as long as she doesn't come here, we guess it's ok.

Deer gets a new calendar each year with Hello Kitty on it (boy, now that we think of it, this beastie must have an awfully big ego!). This year, in addition to that one, Macks found her one with one of Hello Kitty's little friends on it (the ego is contagious obviously!), named Chococat. When she opened up that calendar, they both started giggling, saying, "That looks just like Washington!!"

Who knew we had Japanese relations?

"Mmmmmm....chex mix."
