The only difference is...

While Weebles wobble but they don't fall down...

Washie wobbles but he hopes he doesn't fall in!
Having the lid down is a necessary safety precaution!

Betrayal!

From Madison:
Holy Catnip, Batman, what sort of monsters are holding us captive here at Camp Shorewood?!

For months now, Deer and Macks have lulled us into a false sense of security. Sure, yeah, they hauled Washie off to a scary place called the Emergency Hospital early on but - as we all know - he certainly deserved it being such a sassy brother. But, me?! What the @(#*!@#?

On Wednesday afternoon, Washie and I were minding our own sweet feline business, aka power napping when, without any warning or provocation, these two human beasties abruptly woke us up and stuffed us into these portable prison cells.

Then, we had to endure a car ride. I know, I know, it was only 5 minutes, but I think I'm allowed to moan and mew a bit here.

Hang on to yourselves, now - it gets worse.

When the car stopped, we were at THE VET for what Deer and Macks tried to innocently refer to as our annual check up.

Momma, Daddy...it was awful. The doctor squeezed my tummy, looked into my eyes and ears, gave me a shot and - if all this wasn't enough - she put me on a scale. What could she possibly mean when she said "Madison could do well with losing a pound or two." Oh please, I've worked very hard to develop my belly and damn proud of it!

The Vet didn't even bother to give me a cat treat for my troubles. What is the matter with the world today?

If you can't beat 'em...

From Washie:
I really don't mind it when these people keep out of my way when I have power napping to do, but when I want to play, I WANT TO PLAY! I like to meow plaintively to call attention to the fact that I'm most horribly neglected at these moments.

Sometimes this tactic works, and sometimes it doesn't.

Macks likes to keep himself very busy on the weekends and late, late at night with these notebooks, charts, books, and funny looking dice (hmmm...dice, rhymes with mice...) Deer likes to tease him by calling them his Magic Dice! He was so busy with these Magic M/Dice one day that he didn't even notice my sad, pathetic mews. So, I figured, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!
This game seems a little complex as it involves a thing call reading, which I'm not sure I know how to do. But being a FOEI I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out in no time!

July Family Portrait

From Washington:

My Famous Japanese Cousin gets all sporty again for his July portrait.

While Deer and Macks haven't gotten around to getting me my own personalized baseball cap, I was able to find this one of Deer's, which is - at least - the right color:

Hmmm....maybe it is a little too big for me. I hope I grow into it!

Maddie didn't like the July picture of her Japanese cousin AT ALL! While she ooh-ed and aah-ed over the Audrey Hepburn-esque couture, she would never, ever, in a MILLION YEARS be caught dead walking a dog, of all things! Egads! Have you no shame, oh honorable Japanese Kitty?
Instead, she found just the right spot to take a nap...resting her weary, sweet head on my fuzzy
tummy.

But, look! Aren't my pawz pretty?
